Why I Decided To Join Ravishing Fashionistas As A Model This Year
I have been mainly been a [VIP] Guest for Ravishing Fashionistas over the past years. I have attended their events, and sometimes interview their designers over the years on my blog. I supported their events by attending as well as a media person and publishing stories from RF fashion designers. Sometimes I like to work in the background.
But why have I decided to join as a model this year?
1. I want to try something different
As I have never modelled for Ravishing Fashionistas before, I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn more about Ravishing Fashionistas and see how they organise and prepare models for their runways and events. It’s a good way to meet other models too.
2. I believe in their vision and purpose
Ravishing Fashionistas has a strong message of ‘empowering individuals to embrace their individuality with confidence’ as well as ‘breaking stereotypes in the fashion industry’ - so I thought, “Why not?”. I am a curvy model and this platform would be good for showcasing curvy models and for any young girls and women out there, if they see me on the runway as a curvy model, perhaps it will entice them to want to join fashion modelling while empowered, too.
3. I want to meet more people and collaborate
I have been in the fashion industry for 13 years, and the idea of collaborating with others is something I love doing. Whether as a model, collaborating with HMUAs and other designers - is something I love doing. The fashion industry wouldn't be around unless there’s collaboration and team work. I applaud Ravishing Fashionistas’ events for their collaboration opportunities with other creatives.
