SD: Hi Kimmi. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?

KJ: Hi everyone, my name is Kimmi Jayne and I’m a Tasmania podcast host, radio presenter and National Finalist in the Australia Galaxy Pageant 2024. I launched my podcast ‘Conversations with Kimmi Jayne’, to give women from around the world a platform to share their stories about careers, overcoming challenges, and success, in the hope that listeners will be inspired on their own unique journey.

I’m passionate about public speaking and have twice hosted the Tasmanian Fashion Festival, and I’m a volunteer news reader at Print Radio Tasmania.

An avid writer, I published my first eBook, The Confidence Bible, where I share practical ways to overcome self-doubt, and become the most confident and fulfilled version of yourself. This is close to my heart as someone who struggled for most of my life with a lack of confidence.

Personal Branding has played a huge role in my self-development and expansion, which inspired me to create Kimmi Jayne Consulting, where I run personal branding workshops for women who are ready to turn their strengths, passions and uniqueness into a one-way ticket to success.

SD:
You’re a finalist for Ms Galaxy Australia 2024. Can you tell us more about it?

KJ: The Australia Galaxy Pageant  focuses on contestants lending a hand in the community, raising money for youth mental health, and becoming the best version of yourself. Through my experiences with AGP over the years, I have become crystal clear on my ‘why’, and have developed my platform which is empowering women through confidence and personal branding. I feel honored to be able to align with a pageant whose values align with my own, and I’m working hard on making a positive difference to the lives of real women in my community, through the volunteer work I do with Dress for Success, and the masterclasses I facilitate.

SD:
How did you become interested in pageants?

KJ: I first became interested when I signed up for my first pageant back in 2014, as a Miss Galaxy Australia National Finalist when I was 20 years old (10 years ago now). I was looking for ways to come out of my shell and to try and overcome my fear of public speaking, so I jumped at the opportunity when I saw that applications were open to women across Australia. I had no idea what to expect at Finals week and was very nervous going into the experience. Despite my trepidation I had a fantastic time, it felt like I was living a dream. From the photoshoots, meeting women from across Australia, and having my hair and makeup done for the first time, I already felt like I had gained so much confidence before even making it to finals night!

SD:
What’s in your makeup bag right now?
KJ:
Everything ha-ha. My make-up bag is packed but the products I use daily are my Naked Sunday Collagen SPF 50 Sunscreen, my Skino2 palette for bronzer and blush and my MCo Beauty Mascara.

SD:
What is your vision of success?

KJ: Success means different things to different people. It can be having a roof over your head, being able to pay your bills on time, or being the Prime Minister. I think as I’ve grown older I’ve come to appreciate that true success is having financial security, good health, and wonderful people in your life.

SD:
What do you admire in a woman and why?

KJ: I admire resilience. As women we are faced with many challenges over our lifetime and the ability to push through challenges is something I really admire in people.

SD:
If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?

KJ: Never give up. Even if your dreams seem impossible, keep going.

SD:
Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?
KJ:
I’m most inspired by Danielle Latimer, Ms Galaxy International 2023, for her resilience and strength.

SD:
How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?

KJ: Pageantry has impacted my life in many ways. It has helped me to develop a laser focus on my goals outside of pageantry, and made me realize that anything is possible if you work hard and stay consistent over time.

SD:
What is your best beauty secret?

KJ: Staying out of the sun!
