How The NDIS Changed My Life Pt II

I am still one of the lucky ones who has NDIS. And I got it extended recently. If I remember correctly, this is my third year of getting the NDIS. So what’s changed since I started my supports since my last post about NDIS? How does the NDIS changed my life?

1. Online counselling is ever so great

I didn’t know 1:1 online counselling existed before. I have up to 1 hour sessions with someone I really trust and unpack a lot of my trauma, struggles and triggers. I “see” an online counsellor every two weeks or so. This counsellor also gives me homework like no other counsellor I’ve had in the past. I’m ever so grateful for this kind of support.

2.
Class Bento is amazing
I only recently discovered Class Bento through a friend who also has the NDIS like me, and I am addicted to these classes. NDIS pays for this classes; whether that’s in cooking, art, craft or pottery. I didn’t know this amazing organisation existed until recently. I have a lot in my “Social & Community Participation” and I will definitely utilise these classes from my NDIS funding. I have been to two Class Bento classes, two nights in a row and both were cooking classes. I learnt so much and overall had a great experience.

3. I love Reformer Pilates
Easier said then done, I am ever so challenged by reformer pilates each time. I am also grateful NDIS pays for these reformer pilates and exercise physiology classes. At the moment I am exercising twice a week, on top of my busy schedule.

4. I also see a Dietician
For those who follow me on socials, I’m a big advocate for “healthy life choices”, and part of that is to lose weight for health. I see a dietician every 2-3 weeks and NDIS also supports me in this. I don’t want to lose weight just for exterior things, but ultimately for health. If I look “better”, that’s just a bonus.
