SD: Hi Anshi. Can you introduce yourself to my readers who don’t know you yet?

Greetings everyone! I'm Anshi Dalal, a model and second-year nuclear medicine student. Currently, I proudly represent South Australia as a national finalist in the Miss Galaxy Australia 2024 pageant. Having a background in modelling, my versatility and passion have been featured in advertisements, websites, and runway shows.

Parallel to my modelling endeavours, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Nuclear Medicine) at the University of South Australia. I hope to empower patients by helping them build confidence during their treatments and embrace their true self.

Beyond my professional endeavours, I am deeply committed to philanthropy. As part of my community involvement, I volunteer and raise funds for various charities, including batyr, a youth mental health charity, and contribute to various organisations, such as the Salvation Army.

Growth and learning fuel my journey. As a model, I have demonstrated resilience in the face of setbacks throughout my career. Despite these challenges, I view them as opportunities for growth. As a testament to perseverance and resilience, my own story is a powerful example of achieving one's dreams. My goal is to inspire others to never give up on their dreams and to relentlessly pursue their aspirations.

SD:
You’re a finalist for Miss Galaxy Australia 2024. Can you tell us more about it?

The Australia Galaxy Pageants stand as a symbol of empowerment, offering women from diverse backgrounds a transformative platform to embody their fullest potential. There are four divisions in the pageant, and I am currently competing in the Miss division as Miss Clearview Galaxy 2024.

A profound ethos of advocacy and service lies at the core of the Australia Galaxy Pageants. It is not only encouraged but also empowered for delegates to leverage their voices and platforms for positive change. Over the last ten years, our collective efforts have resulted in delegates raising over $680,000 for designated charities, including the impactful organisation batyr. Through volunteerism, fundraising, and participation in community events, delegates exemplify the spirit of service and solidarity within their communities. The Australia Galaxy Pageants foster a sense of empowerment and compassion that extends beyond the stage.

SD:
How did you become interested in pageants?

Being from an Indian background, I have always been fascinated by Bollywood. Some of those Bollywood actresses have inspired me with their pageant journeys, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Miss World 1994, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Miss World 2000 and Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, Miss Universe 2021. In my opinion, these empowered women are nothing short of motivating; embarking on remarkable journeys within their communities and mobilising support for noble causes, their dedication and passion ignite a flame of hope and compassion that resonates far and wide. I was, however, awestruck by the Galaxy Girls too. I am very proud to use this inspiration and to have the opportunity to be a Miss Galaxy Australia National Finalist 2024.

SD:
What’s in your makeup bag right now?

In my makeup bag right now, I have a tinted moisturiser, mascara, lip gloss, and a neutral eyeshadow palette, all from Dior because I like to keep my look natural yet elegant.

SD:
What is your vision of success?

It is my personal belief that success and failure are not final, it is the courage to continue that counts.

SD:
What do you admire in a woman and why?

I admire resilience because it embodies strength, grace, and unwavering determination in the face of adversity.

SD:
If you could give one piece of advice to your 14 year old self, what would it be?

Embrace your uniqueness and believe in your worth because your authenticity is your greatest strength.

SD: Who are you most inspired by in the Pageant World and why?

I am deeply inspired by Shikye Alyce Smith, the Director of the Australia Galaxy Pageants. As the first woman of colour to win the Miss Galaxy Australia title and subsequently in America, Shikye became the first, and so far, only Australian to win the Miss Galaxy International title. It is her story that provides inspiration for breaking boundaries and following your own unique path, and I am here to prove to myself that I am capable, presenting myself to a crowd with persistence, endurance, and confidence.

SD:
How have beauty pageants impacted your life and your career?

Beauty pageants have empowered me to embrace my confidence, amplify my voice, and make a meaningful impact in my community, shaping both my personal growth and career trajectory.

SD:
What is your best beauty secret?

My best beauty secret is to radiate kindness and confidence from within, because true beauty emanates from a heart filled with compassion and self-assurance.
