INTERVIEW with Azy Biba || Content Creator & Influencer
SD: Hello, Azy. For my readers who don’t know you yet, can you please introduce yourself?
AB: Hi, I’m Asmaa, although many people online know me as Azy. I’m a Brisbane-based content creator and influencer, and I create content across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, events, and confidence.
My journey into this space didn’t happen in my early twenties, which is a big part of why my story means so much to me. I started later in life, after years of living a very full and busy life, and what began as a creative outlet slowly turned into something much bigger. Over time, I built a presence online by showing up consistently, sharing my style, my experiences, and the parts of life that felt real and relatable.
Today, one of the things I’m most passionate about is inspiring women, especially women over 40, to understand that it is never too late to start again, reinvent yourself, or go after something that once felt out of reach. I think there is something incredibly powerful about building a dream with life experience behind you.
SD: As an influencer, what kind of offers do you usually reject?
AB: I usually reject anything that doesn’t feel aligned with who I am, what I stand for, or what my audience knows me for. For me, it’s never just about saying yes to an offer, it’s about whether I can genuinely connect with it and tell a story around it in a natural way.
I also turn down collaborations that feel overly transactional or don’t respect the creative process. The best partnerships happen when there is trust, creative freedom, and a real match between the brand and the creator. My audience connects with me because I’m honest, so I protect that very carefully.
SD: Who inspires you?
AB: I’m deeply inspired by women who keep evolving. Women who have lived, struggled, rebuilt, doubted themselves, and still choose to rise. There is something so elegant and powerful about a woman who decides she is not done yet.
I’m also inspired by female founders, creative women in business, and everyday women who quietly keep going after their dreams, even when life is busy or messy. That kind of resilience inspires me more than perfection ever could.
SD: Any advice for aspiring influencers?
AB: My biggest advice would be to start before you feel ready. So many women hold themselves back because they think they need to be younger, more confident, more polished, or more experienced first. But the truth is, confidence is built through action, not before it.
Be consistent, be intentional, and don’t underestimate the value of your own story. People are drawn to what feels real. You don’t need to copy anyone else to be successful. Your voice, your energy, and your perspective are the very things that will make people remember you.
And most importantly, don’t let age make you count yourself out. Sometimes the very thing you think is your disadvantage is actually your greatest edge.
SD: What’s a typical day like for you?
AB: A typical day for me is full and very real. I usually start early, often with the gym, because I love beginning my day feeling grounded and strong. From there, I balance a busy work life while also building my content creator world around it.
That can look like filming before work, answering emails in between, editing late at night, attending events, creating content on weekends, and always thinking creatively in the background. It’s definitely a juggle, but it’s also something I genuinely love. There’s a lot of unseen work behind content creation, but for me, that’s part of the beauty of it. It’s not just posting pretty photos, it’s building something meaningful, one step at a time.
SD: What are your favourite fashion brands?
AB: I’m very drawn to brands that make women feel confident, feminine, and elevated. I especially love Australian labels like Meshki, VRG GRL and SIR. They all have a strong point of view and create pieces that feel modern, stylish, and empowering.
I’ve always loved fashion that helps a woman feel polished and powerful, whether that’s a beautiful dress, tailored set, or a statement piece that completely changes your energy when you put it on.
