INTERVIEW with By Sienna Grace || Designer for Q Style Swim Sunshine Coast 2026
SD: Hi there, for my readers who don’t know you yet, can you please introduce yourself?
SG: Hi, I’m Sienna. I’m 13 years old and the designer and maker behind By Sienna Grace. I create handmade statement earrings using Australian kangaroo leather. What started as a love for fashion and making things has grown into a small business with online sales, stockists across Australia, photoshoots, and now my first runway show.
SD: How do you define success and what are the keys to success?
SG: Success to me is doing something I genuinely love while continuing to learn and grow. I think the biggest keys to success are consistency, creativity, being open to learning, and enjoying the process, not just the end result.
SD: Have you always loved fashion? Can you share any memorable pieces you’ve worn and what you loved about them?
SG: I’ve always loved fashion and design. I started sewing my own clothes when I was 8 years old, and my original brand was actually called Sienna Sews. The dress I’m wearing in my images was recently made by me with help from my sewing teacher, Margaret, who has been a huge part of my progress and confidence in sewing. I love wearing pieces I’ve created myself because they feel personal and truly reflect my style.
SD: How did earrings become your main focus?
SG: After sewing, I started experimenting with clay and leather earrings, and they took off more than I ever expected. I loved making bold, fashionable statement earrings and seeing how much people genuinely loved wearing them. Earrings became the perfect way for me to express fashion creatively while still balancing school.
SD: What would be your dream fashion gig right now?
SG: My dream is to see my earrings styled on runways and in fashion shoots alongside beautiful clothing. Long term, once I finish school, I’d love to move back into fashion and design and create clothing, especially teen fashion, alongside accessories.
SD: What excites you most about Q Style Swim Sunshine Coast 2026 this year?
SG: I’m most excited about seeing my earrings on the runway and being part of such a creative and inspiring event. It feels really special to be included alongside so many talented designers, and it’s a huge milestone for both me and my brand.
