INTERVIEW with EllaMarie Swimwear || Designer for Q Style Swim Sunshine Coast 2026
SD: Hi Lauree, for my readers who don’t know you yet, can you please introduce yourself?
LC: My name is Lauree Conte and I’m the founder and creative director of EllaMarie Swimwear, which I have named after my gorgeous daughter. I started the brand from a desire to create pieces that make women feel confident, comfortable, and sexy. EllaMarie is proudly manufactured from sustainable materials and ethical practices, whilst blending thoughtful design with high-quality craftsmanship.
SD: How do you define success and what are the keys to success?
LC: To me, success isn’t just about numbers or recognition—it’s about alignment. It’s waking up excited about what you’re building, staying true to your values, and creating something that genuinely impacts how women feel about themselves. The keys to success are consistency, resilience, and trusting your vision even on the hard days. Growth comes from showing up, learning as you go, and not being afraid to evolve.
SD: Have you always loved fashion? Can you share any memorable pieces you’ve worn and what you loved about them?
LC: I love fashion, but more specifically I love being creative. Swimwear has always stood out to me because it’s one of the most vulnerable things a woman can wear. I built the lush collection for myself, a fully adjustable top and bottom that adjusts to your body shape without ANY ties, super comfortable, supportive and the material has been imported from Italy for quality.
SD: What would be your dream fashion gig right now?
LC: My dream fashion gig would be continuing to see EllaMarie Swimwear showcased on strong, diverse women—on runways, in editorials, and in real life. Expanding and stocking in more stores and eventually having swimwear stores that stocks all sizes and styles all around Australia and eventually international.
SD: What excites you most about Q Style Swim Sunshine Coast 2026 this year?
LC: What excites me most about Q Style Swim is the opportunity to bring EllaMarie Swimwear to life on the runway. There’s something incredibly powerful about seeing your designs move, breathe, and tell a story in real time. Being part of an event that celebrates swimwear, creativity, and Australian fashion is such an honour, and I’m excited to share our vision with a new audience in such a vibrant setting.
